Whoops, I'm back to late wake-ups again. To be fair, my sleep did feel uncomfortable with on-going cases like an aching back, loose and heavily creasing sheets and various noises from 360 degrees.
Today really didn't offer much to talk about since a lot of it occurred on the laptop. I heaved myself upstairs for a tea and snooped myself over this video-game streaming service called OnLive that already has issues with logging me on. Gobbled down some toast and raced out to Fern Medical Practice.
Unfortunately enough the place is roughly the same distance as HomeBase. I called up reception to notify my late arrival but my headphone mic wasn't allowing my voice to transmit so a rather awkward hang up took place. (Second time worked though, sans the headphones) Getting close, my iPhone almost threw me off in the wrong direction, taking me some typical residential lane. I assumed it could situated as a dinky little place nestled amongst the houses - my previous dentist and surgery was.
More specific address revealed the truth - no. It was even further up ahead. Getting around the next corner of Hale Road, though, oh boy. That is quite the hospital. Most today generally have some sort of architectural merit to them, be it exterior and/or interior but this one in Farnham did look nice. It was leaps and bounds above the depressing shit holes I've witnessed before, at least.
Any way, I frantically walked around the building until I found the main entrance. The inside impressed me further - pearly-white walls, mezzanines all over, furnished wood flooring... it really did sell me, despite my potential naïvety. Raced to the reception after finding it (it was right ahead, durr) but a bastard office worker beat me to it. He too was looking for Fern Medical Practice which blew a chord on me, for some odd reason. The man at reception advised me to follow the man ahead. When I got to the medical practice (finding out it was in-built to the main hospital, intriguingly) I once again had to wait for the office worker to finish checking in at reception.
Being 10 or so minutes late seemed no issue - the doctor was there waiting. He joked over me being lost. Well yeah, I guess.
Headed over to a Pharmacist, handily there was one in the hospital itself across from reception. Before I could get mine, before me once again was the fucking office worker. This really should't get me so perked up, but...eh? :(
On the way back to 92, I stopped by a news agent - one that looked a little bit dilapidated. (Many do tend to, though) Grabbing a coke and some crisps, some 18+ mags magnetised my eye whilst waiting in line. This...never happened before, I'm supposing because most corner shops like these I go to keep the magazines behind the counter, or at least out of eye sight from it. I wandered over and was almost immediately put away by the price.
Getting back, I had a casual chat with Yannis outside in the communal halls. We talked about languages we learnt, Yannis's second prime being Greek. He showed me some of the characters on his iPhone's Greek keyboard. Cool letters! Many of them do ring bells me with; alpha, omega and zeta to name a few. In return, I waffled on about the Japanese Kanji and why it can be so damn difficult.
Later that evening I burst into Sophie's room and asked her if she wanted a pizza (bogof, baby) but she had already eaten one. :( I turned to Yannis, nein. Georgia? Eating a steak. Robert? Maybe. He went off to the library though, before making a decision. I even rang up PJ on the offer and he rejected it over a sandwich. I waited for Rob's return which took about a whole hour, and he didn't want a pizza.
After ordering and eating that yummy pizza, went and had a shower. Before that I got into another chat with Yannis, but also Georgia, in his room. They were busy working on their photography project involving documentary. Yannis made it clear that this wasn't at all a sort of area he enjoys. They sure do have a lot of books, though. In fact, holy shit: Rob brought back about 7 or so books from the library. I already have some in my room for animation, from home - but I sure do feel damn lazy now.
Tomorrow, I'm going to the library to get some of the 'essential readings', based on the unit criterias for the various projects.
