I scampered out of bed at about 6am to try and hide away crap left out in the communal hall before the cleaner went upstairs. Luckily, all of that stuff was gone. I guess we won't be getting a letter this week, pretty sure we did all the right things in regard to housekeeping like last week.
Today was essentially finishing off the comics for tomorrow on Tuesday. I feel bad for not having done this earlier, and generally stayed on top. In fact, I should of finished the walk last week as well. And be maintaining development on characters and practice on sketches. It's a lot of stuff I should do, and I do want to do. I just hate knuckling down and reverting to my perfectionist nature.
Bought some more ice cream from Waitrose, fearful that I am developing a lust for the cold confections. Baked Alaska is delicious though. Today was another great day like on Friday. Sophie and the gang were outside. Georgia, Rob and Yannis were off to do some photography. James and his awesome hair demanded attention from his bed room window.
I headed off to the Student Union office to see if I can finally catch Benjo Taylor - he was indeed in his office. The list of activities - dates and times - was released to students roughly last week but the cocktail club wasn't anywhere to be seen. I enquired him about it and the scheme was dropped entirely supposedly because the man with the plan ultimately wouldn't have enough time. This struck me out of the blue, not to mention this sucks. I was really looking forward to that club and learning a lot from it.
(Out of every club being advertised at the SU back then, cocktail society was also the most lavishly advertised, DRINK FOUNTAIN and all.) Asked Benjo instead for a reminder what day and time Salsa is. It isn't on this week. For fucks sake.
Headed back and worked further on the comics. It goes without saying but I don't think a lot occurred today.
Whilst upstairs in the kitchen appreciating the view and finishing off my 500ml tub of Ben & Jerry's, Rory arrived carrying three bags of shopping - each bag from a different super market chain (Iceland, Sainsburys and Waitrose respectively). I asked Rory bewilderedly if he really did shop at each one, but of course not. He bought a week's worth of shopping at Sainsbury's and the poor man was worn out from the walk back. At £30, that's pretty good. He once apparently did a week's worth for just £16.
Went back to Waitrose to get some rice for my Pork Stroganoff. Once back and I preheated the oven and chatted to the peeps. Rob was reaching his limit with Super Mario Land, determined to finish it. He doesn't particularly understand how or why PJ finished said game in 20 minutes. Yannis was checking and post-processing the photos he took today and Georgia was busy taking notes and quotes from books for her project.
Just finishing the tasty Stroganoff, Becky and another friend of Sophie's arrive. Regarding this 'friend' Rob and Yannis seem set that he is gay despite Georgia telling him "we've had this discussion before."
He's a friendly chap though, and it's a good thing he's got accommodation now. Weeks before, he'd have to travel up to Farnham all the way from Chichester. It raised my eyebrows since Chichester is practically 7 miles from home, and is where I went to High School and College.
Sophie wanted to watch James and the Giant Peach - a film which again I haven't seen again since the cinema viewing. She asked Yannis who just sort of did another blanking of everyone around him whilst listening away to his music. Both him and Rob agreed to watch it, though. On the other hand I had work to finish off, so I went into my room and then 'accidentally' conked out for an hour. Woke up, did some strips and popped out the room into the communal hall where the film was currently being watched. Forgetting to lock my door, I lied back against it and collapsed into my room like a hurpa derp.
The film really struck some nostalgia that I forgot. It's one of things that because your memory holds it in less regard, it feels far more older than it really is. Forgot how touching it was (even if horrifically cheese-ball at times) and the animation is actually pretty top notch. The transition and mixing of live action and stop motion, while done as far back as Jason and the Agonaughts <sp>, was cool to see.
Afterwards (Louie and another person who's name I forget) turned up for the film too. After it finished everyone just hung around. Whilst discussing why it is people would keep Ferrets as pets (and I stumbled upon the British Ferret Club on Google incidentally) Yannis mistook Ferrets for Pheasants. Rob also watched a video on YouTube of the last stages in Super Mario Land, as a reference on how to beat the game. He was severely disappointed by the ending, even if this is the Gameboy here. I asked Yannis to play his favourite 'jingle' of his favourite band - Blue Blood (I think) by The Fouls. This 7 seconds looping jingle may be light of Yannis's life but is the epitome of annoyance and grief for Sophie and Georgia. For some reason, the jingle itself just cracks me up every time I hear it.
As I went ahead with the last stretch of work (had to draw in subsequent frames for the last comics, irritatingly) I heard more antics going on in the communal area. One of which was Yannis running back and fourth stealing stuff from Georgia's room. I devoured a whole tin of Digestive biscuits too. Everyone went into Georgia's room to watch some Russell Howard.
Tomorrow (or today, as I am writing this additional stuff) there will be voice training and sound recording! It should be interesting - Jade Midson mentioned on her Facebook that it was hilarity, so it should make for an entertaining day.
