Washin' ma' shin

Today is a record low. 11:45am. Will I seriously change? I'd better.

On the back of my head today, I knew I had to crack on with writing up those dairy comics. However, I needed to get some change for the washing machine and tumble dryer. Oh, if I had anticipated the walking distance to come.

My Anglepoise lamp was missing, of course, a light bulb. Popped around to Waitrose with the assumption they are sold there - nein. After scanning the street upwards around the centre of Farnham, I popped into a pub - 'The Queen's Head', to ask for directions to the nearest hardware shop. There was Robert Dyas close by, but I couldn't see it. There supposedly is a Homebase in Farnham too. It's Sunday, so the latter has a better chance of being open. Well, of I go.

Consulted Facebook's recent addition, Places, and it didn't seem far off. I guess it wasn't, but it was still a damn trek - about 30 minutes or so. I spent about another half hour standing on the spot pondering what lightbulb would work for my lamp, assuming that this was another case of household knowledge vital after moving out. Too cautious, I checked on the website of Anglepoise itself using the phone and it thankfully recommended a specific bulb. Phillips Mini Tornado bulb it was, then.

Half way walking home I grew pretty thirsty, and my hands became very hot for no apparent reason. I wasn't in the mood to stop at an entire cafe so I just snooped for a NewsAgents. The last I recall seeing one, it was on the corner of Falkner Road. After even more minutes spent waltzing through Farnham (and past Guitar Village shop, that place...) I found it. Closed. Damn, what a stinker.

Luckily I recalled spying some vending machines just outside the washing machines, at the Campus.
Too bad though that I blew my pound on the drink when it should of gone to the washing. (That Coke was worth it, though) Glanced at the instructions and options for the washing machines. Colour, Pure White, Compression (?) ...it kind of flew passed my head. I did notice though that POWDER was required for washing and not liquid, which...crap. Two whole bottles of Non-Bio gel gone to waste. :'((
Noticed Kit there, and he probably noticed me. Neither of us really dropped a greet.

Back to Room 5 and my bulb worked, thank science. If it didn't.

In the kitchen Rob and Yannis were there, and I watched some of the Ring - the Japanese horror - with Rob. Good film, though for some reason I wasn't particularly spooked. Also, blue filter. Jamie was frying up a steak which emitted sound like a raining typhoon. Speaking of sound, planes come in somewhat low over the campus as they head to base. One aircraft in particularly I always hate, though, because as it flies overhead the sound is that of high-pitched whirring pretty much on par with a bomb drop. I find it a little off-putting when ether I hear it.

Afterwards I headed back to my room to work on the comics. Drawing myself these days seems odd, but I got the really crazy contours (think 3 fucking speed bumps in a row) of my face right. I've finished one so far. ...yay!

Heard Sophie arrive back outside, sounded like she had a good trip. I wanted to have a Dominos with Georgia but only she and her sister were ordering so I could not nab the BOGOF deal. :(
Instead, a Sausage and Red Onion casserole ready meal was all good. I watched the rest of Pulp Fiction, whilst Yannis chased Sophie around with a tea towel - heavily intent on whipping her with it. Sophie noticed on Facebook a photo of her three stuffed cuddle animals, and she genuinely sad for leaving them behind. Fair calls, but I couldn't help but notice she was steadfast approaching a QQ tear moment :'(

Kit was up again, and asked us (or probably more specifically Sophie) if we wanted a house party. Eh. My shit gets moved too much, let alone disappearing. Neither me or Sophie would be too crazy of not only having to clean up a huge travesty of a mess the following morning, but find most of our food and utensils gone MIA.
